Can it be? In the 2 years we’ve been looking at a card each week, we’ve never seen VI The Lovers?
Finally, here it is!
Which is often the way people feel after encountering the choice they’ve been waiting for. The one they recognize as truly “theirs”.
Wait! “Choice”? Not “person?
VI The Lovers can absolutely mean a soul-deep love when that’s what we’ve focused on. But it’s a much bigger energy than that. It’s about recognizing any element in your life as peculiarly germane to your singular journey. A career choice, an education choice, a geographical location choice: these can all fall into VI Lovers territory.
The thing you’ll recognize is that you feel there really is no choice at all. There’s something you have to do, someone you have to be, because of the calling of your soul.
The down side is that there’s usually something else to be left behind. In the case of relationship, we may not have the freedom we did when single. For an education choice, we may be leaving friends behind by choosing a faraway college. Any choice has its ramifications, doesn’t it?
Here in the Tarot of the Thousand and One Nights we have the choice of the Sultan to love Scheherazade. Quite a brave choice, even given the thousand and one nights of brilliant story-telling. All that story-telling doesn’t necessarily mean the Sultan won’t get hurt again. Scheherazade could be cunning enough for treachery if she’s clever enough to keep interest by story-telling. (Of course, I’ll put in a vote for the happy ending!)
VI Lovers isn’t our happy ending; it’s our meaningful beginning. There’s still the “ever after” part left to live.
So bring it down to the level of your own life: where do you have meaningful choices to make? How can you connect with your soul at the crossroads? Recognize that you’re at the very beginning of the paths you can choose between.
Choose soulfully and begin the adventure!
We all have times when we need help recognizing our options and hearing the voice of our soul. Tarot’s a wonderful tool for those times and I’m happy to help you use it. Get in touch with me whenever you need.

We’ve talked about the qualities of the Page of Pentacles, and we’ve given the Page a chance to encounter some of the other energies in the Tarot deck. Let’s compare a trio of different Pages this week.
Take a look at the Zach Wong Page of Pentacles from the Revelations Tarot. Be very Page of Pentacles in your assessment: just describe the facts of what you see. Then comb through what you’ve described to see where you’ve assigned meaning, rather than just made a description. See if you can tease out only the Page of Pentacles from the other qualities of Tarot.
How about the Page of Rainbows from the Osho Zen Tarot (remember that this deck uses Rainbows, Clouds, Water and Fire instead of Pentacles, Swords, Cups and Wands)? Be factually descriptive: what’s the image? What are the colours involved? Of course, we’ve got our individual responses to the caption, “Adventure”. Can you be as factual and practical as possible in describing an adventure?
Now let’s find meaning in the elements of the images. Rather than assigning meaning based on the symbolism of the cards, look to your own experience. Is there anything you’re reminded of in your own life by what you’ve seen here? What specifically is it on the cards that’s reminded you of whatever memories or situations came to mind? How can you understand various facets of that experience by examining it in connection with one card at a time?
And, there you go . . . . a Page of Pentacles experience of learning about the world around you by examining its elements.
Head out on your own learning adventure this week!
Learning tarot is definitely an adventure! Begin – or continue – your learning adventure through the BCACE classes on 20th March and 1st May. For private consultations or lessons, you can find me here.

What if all you had to do to feel passionate about life was to step into a flow of passion?
Well, Ace of Fire, also known as Ace of Wands, is that flow. It’s the seed, the potential for the complete development of values, goals, the desired lifestyle (Tarot . . . It’s Easier Than You Think). Each Ace, each new passion, each beginning contains an entire lifespan with all its promise and eventual completion.
Our job, when we meet an Ace, is to open to the possibilities of the suit, in this case Wands. Aces are the most potent and pure of the minor arcana. Here we’ve got the ultimate in fire (Tarot 2: We’re Not in Kansas Anymore).
The Japaridze image gives us the fire within a diamond, the internal fire of a tempered, high-value gem. It’s a blossom of fire. The Rider Waite Smith image is of the Divine hand offering a new wand.
Story time . . . TIETYT, what happens when the wealthy 9 of Pentacles encounters the Ace of Wands flow? T2WNIKA, what’s the relationship between boundless fire and a lot of earth? And how does the 9 get on with 1?
Where are you feeling the passion, a renewed enthusiasm for life?
Jump into the flow and let it carry you away!
Tarot can help you focus and follow a new beginning; get in touch for a session. Follow your tarot passion with the next Berkeley County Adult Ed classes on 20th March and 1st May. Call 304-267-3585 for info and to sign up.

Wow! Who’s this guy?? Dire straits and a real mess, this one!
You’ve probably noticed the bare butt hanging out of his jester’s leggings and his matching (?) jester’s hat. There’s a lynx hanging onto his leg with tooth and claw and a very interested crocodile about to grab the other leg. His sack is very full, but of what, we don’t know. Were you as surprised as I to see the tie with his shirt? And did you notice that his shoes don’t match?
He’s been travelling through a desert and it seems to have gotten the best of him. His tongue is hanging out of the side of his mouth and his position implies an extremely unbalanced gait. Everything’s leaning to the right, the rational side. But this dude doesn’t look even remotely rational.
Do you ever have days like that? Days when you can’t get it together and you’ve got problems nipping at your heels while you walk into a big-ass mess, all while you’re completely depleted, with no resources around you.
Or is this guy out of resources? That big sack on his left shoulder, his intuitive side, sure is full of something. And that’s just where 0 The Fool tells us to look: within, to our still, small voice.
Last time we looked at 0 The Fool, he wasn’t in such dire straits. Sometimes it seems this is the human condition. We’ve leaned too hard on our thinking mind and now we’re being asked to use that great store of internal treasure to get us out of the mess we’re in.
So where are you feeling bone dry and all et up with problems? This is your opportunity for a new adventure. Start by opening your personal rucksack right where you are, before you take another step. What’s in there? Remember, this isn’t about your rational self, this is about your innocent internal self. Let go of your concern with the outer world and go within for your next lead.
Who knows, you might find you can fly!
If you’re stuck between your own lynx and crocodile, tarot is a wonderful tool to help you find your inner wisdom. Here’s where to find me.

There’s an elegance and visionary quality to the numbers for March. It’s an excellent time to be open for Divine inspiration pertaining to your involvement in business or those areas where you’re the one in charge. How do you express yourself on the material plane?
Decision-making can feel a little more dicey than at other times this year, and much more so than last month. We’re all of a more divided mind, perhaps feeling one thing while thinking another, perhaps able to feel equal weight in the pros and cons. Often, it’s likely to be, “I want to do one thing, but I know I should be more considerate”.
This combination of numbers can lead to some uncomfortable feelings, with a sense of crankiness about facing things we don’t want to look at. Specifically, how our materialism impacts our relationships or our sense of Divine “rightness”. We could be hyper-sensitive to criticism about putting our position before our friendships, or putting the bottom line before the people in the company. That can apply to us as consumers, as well as producers.
There are beautiful opportunities to make materialism and commerce an avenue for heart-felt connections, if we stay open to inspiration. Be more attached to being a messenger for the Universe than to the empire you’ve built up – or to any guilt associated with your empire-building. Put it aside and connect with the people around you, discovering how leaders can connect with the individuals they lead as peers.
Yes, as peers! There’s a brilliant push toward cooperation, that paradisiacal notion of walking side by side, even with the Creator. We all get to be expressive in this paradigm.
Let your material side bring you closer to others!
Finding how your personal numbers rub up against the Universal energies we’re discussing is just one way you can make use of my services.
